In 2023, we celebrated reaching a huge milestone- over half a million dollars in grants across 28 different non-profits! Now that 2024 is here, let’s continue working together to positively impact our Bay Area community.

Our First Out of State Conversations in New Mexico

Heidi travels to New Mexico to visit Tamara, and Julián. Together, we hosted our first out of state community conversation at the Maxwell Museum and a second breakfast conversation in Santa Fe with the dynamic crew from Wise Fools.

Our New Board Chair: Tamara Randall

Tamara Randall, granddaughter of Founder Sami Sunchild and longtime board member, will be stepping up into the role of Board Chair. Tamara’s guidance and leadership have been instrumental for our expansion over the past couple of years. We are immensely grateful to welcome Tamara as our new Board Chair.

Summer is in full swing and a warm clarity glows as our peace builders have grown in numbers and in their dedication to deepening their practice while engaging within their wider communities. Coming back to in person conversations has ignited the foundation's mission once again.

How Do We Begin to Navigate Difficult Conversations?

The words we choose, the meanings behind them, our intentions, and how we listen to each other are all elements of communication. These elements can contribute to conversations either flowing smoothly like a river or crashing like waves upon rocks and drowning each others’ voices.

How Do We Continue Our Ancestors Legacy?

Cultural change is a given for any social group. As we witness and partake in the constant new transformations of society, our sense of self, community, and place can also shift. How can we bridge the intergenerational divides that naturally spring up? How do we honor the legacy of our ancestors while also staying true to ourselves?

Taking action during times of global unrest

In times of global crises – with war, ecological disasters, and social upheaval, unfortunately, all too common – individual calls for peace and mindful inter-action might seem insufficient. At the same time, we know we must step up in some way.

Our New Art Program Facilitator

The crisp chill in the air, sends us the signals that autumn has arrived, announcing creative seasonal changes which makes me reflective and curious about the world we live in. With open arms we welcome Julián Antonio Carrillo, our new Art Program Facilitator. Julián attended several of our conversations during our time at the Presidio.

Summer Sonder

Here at the Peaceful World Foundation, we have been celebrating peace activism through the arts in collaboration with ArtSeed and special guest facilitator, Greta Severson who gave an insightful presentation on the origins of the peace symbol.
